Volunteer to Teach Languages Classes for Migrant Workers in Beirut!

We are working on setting up a Migrant Workers’ Rights Action Center with an eye towards improving the condition of migrant workers in this country, particularly with respect to education and social services.
One of our first projects is setting up free language classes for migrant workers to facilitate communication and their ability to speak for and defend themselves. We are looking right now at instruction of Arabic, French, and English, and we are looking for VOLUNTEERS to teach these languages. The commitment is only every Sunday for a couple of hours, and we need all the help we can get!

In addition, we’re looking for people with ideas for the Center- any idea is welcome and in addition to discussing classes at our first meeting we’ll have a brainstorming session for other ideas. If you want to do something about the situation in this country regarding the treatment of migrant workers, just show up, have an idea or two, bring some friends, and we’ll see jointly how you can help!

The MEETING will be next Wednesday at 6 at The Nasawiya House in Achrafiyeh- please email beforehand as well at if you’re planning on attending!

and TELL YOUR FRIENDS or anyone else who might be interested and SPREAD THE WORD!!!!!
